In short, feel free to be morally against them, they have a legitimate use as long as you own original media or the license has lapsed (E.G. Used to be called fair use but now it's some other crazy thing but it only slightly redefined 'educational use' a bit to prevent abuse by educational institutions (education was redefined as individual education.) Although, I know that isn't practical for a lot of people due to money/space constraints that come with being a responsible adult (something I have avoided like the plague for my ~30 years of existence) so I don't blame people too much.ĭon't forget location Dean, if they own the original disk / playable media where I am they're legally allowed to have a copy on a device of their choosing, even if it's one not provided by the supplier. Otherwise, I would always rather have the real game/consoles. I have a couple on my OUYA but only actually use them to play modded roms like Sonic Megmix or Mario Adventures. I rarely use my PSP or 3DS for that very reason.

I'm not knocking the Dreamcast at all, I quite like mine! I even bought that new RPG for it (Pier Solar and the Great Architects - there was a thread about it some months ago.) I'm saying that emulating it on a tiny screen as opposed to just getting a console and playing it on a real TV doesn't seem worth it to me. Regarding the availability, sadly I have no answer for ya man, but I'll be watching this thread.

Long story short, there are a lot of good games on the Dreamcast that would port well over largely because the downscale effect on the screen would make it appear more 'Hi-Def' than traditional TV screens the visuals were designed for. Despite the knock on Dreamcast Dean, I have to say that even with an RCA to HDMI converter block between the Dreamcast and a TV it still looks decent enough, the PS2 does not age gracefully though that's for sure (It gets a lot of lines in it).
